James Reid offers breather in love’s chaos on new single “Pahinga,” featuring TJ Monterde

June 6, 2025

It serves as the lead single off ‘jgh’ deluxe EP, which also features live versions of “Your Boy,” “Hurt Me Too,” and “Pahinga”—to name a few

Multi-awarded singer, actor, and all-around creative force James Reid has officially dropped his new single “Pahinga,” featuring pop hitmaker TJ Monterde.

The soul-stirring collaboration serves as the focus track off the jgh (Deluxe) EP, released today under Sony Music Entertainment and Careless Music.

Produced by James Reid and Brian Lotho and co-written by both artists with Jason Marvin and TJ Monterde, “Pahinga” offers a refreshing take on love’s quiet resilience. The track doubles as a searing ballad thatreflects the maturity of lovers during difficult moments, not by fighting harder but by pausing with care.

According to James, “Pahinga” doesn’t demand resolution through drama; it seeks solace in stillness. The song essays the quiet understanding between partners who, in the wake of emotional storms, choose to pause, breathe, and stay for love.

“It began with a real-life experience,” James recounts a previous encounter, which became the inspiration in writing the track. “I realized you need to quiet the mind so you can hear your heart. Pahinga is about patience and perseverance in relationships. The blend of country and R&B was something I’ve been wanting to try recently, and I think the genre really helped bring out the sincerity of what we were trying to say.”

From its tender, soothing melodies to its vulnerable lyrics (Pahingi nang isang minuto, mataas lang emosyon ko ngayon. But after all this, mahal pa rin kita), the track carries the weight of truth only lived-in love can bear. With Monterde’s signature warmth and Reid’s introspective sincerity, “Pahinga is a lullaby for grown-up hearts still learning how to rest in love.

But “Pahinga” is just one chapter of a larger story. It anchors the jgh (Deluxe) EP, a carefully expanded edition of James’ 2024 release of the same title. The deluxe version of the EP also contains live versions of all the songs in the previously released record, with the addition of “Your Boy,” “Pahinga” and “Hurt Me Too,” which further underscore the record’s intimate appeal.

“I’ve really enjoyed recording live versions of my songs, so I wanted to package them together with my new song, Pahinga, to wrap up the whole JGH journey back into OPM,” reveals the ‘Mirasol’ singer in a press statement.

Eschewing polish for authenticity, these renditions echo the warmth of a jam session shared among close friends. James and his team wanted the listeners to feel “like they were there in the room with him and the band,” while embracing the imperfection and intimacy that come with an unplugged recording. “I wanted the audience to feel like they’re there hanging out with me,” he adds.

First released in 2024, ‘jgh’ marked James’ pivotal return to making pop-leaning tracks with distinct OPM sensibilities. ‘jgh’ deluxe EP (short for “just got home”)gives an intimate glimpse into the celebrated multi-hyphenate’s past and present life, chronicling how he has matured all these years, both as an artist and as a person.

With a blend of pop, R&B, and OPM sensibilities, the EP captures Reid at his most vulnerable, rediscovering the earnest, grounded parts of his identity that he may have lost touch with and learning to forgive himself and accept the flaws that came with it. Now with the deluxe edition, that homecoming feels even more complete.

James Reid’s new album, ‘jgh’ deluxe EP is out now on all digital music platforms worldwide via Sony Music Entertainment and Careless Music. Watch out for the release of the “Pahinga” live performance video via James Reid’s official YouTube channel.

EVANESCENCE REVEALS EXPLOSIVE NEW COLLABORATION “FIGHT LIKE A GIRL (feat. K.FLAY)”

June 5, 2025

PRE-SAVE HERE

LOS ANGELES – June 2, 2025 – GRAMMY® Award-winning rock band Evanescence and alt-rock visionary K.Flay have teamed up for their first-ever collaboration on the explosive new song, “Fight Like A Girl.” (SONY). The song is featured as the first end title song in Ballerina, the hotly anticipated film set in the world of John Wick. Both the song and the film are out this Friday, June 6th.

Co-written by Evanescence lead singer Amy Lee, K.Flay, Dylan Eiland, and Ballerina film composer Tyler Bates, who also produced the track, “Fight Like A Girl” follows the release of Halsey and Amy Lee’s thunderous track “Hand That Feeds,” the first original song recently revealed from the film in early May.

Fueled by fierce energy and defiance, “Fight Like A Girl” channels the film’s themes of vengeance, resilience, and female empowerment, mirroring its adrenaline-pumping intensity and emotional depth. Ballerina, starring Ana de Armas, Anjelica Huston, Gabriel Byrne, Lance Reddick, Catalina Sandino Moreno, Norman Reedus, with Ian McShane, and Keanu Reeves, is set to electrify audiences with its high-octane action and raw emotional stakes. Directed by Len Wiseman and written by Shay Hatten, based on characters by Derek Kolstad, the film is produced by Basil Iwanyk, Erica Lee, and Chad Stahelski.

“Tyler calling me up to create this song for Ballerina couldn’t have come at a more perfect time, I know I’m not the only girl out there ready to dig my heels in and show the world what we’re made of,” said Amy Lee. “I really wanted this song to be a collab, and K.Flay is one of my favorite artists. It is literally a dream come true to do this together!”

“Amy sent me the demo and I was immediately so energized, so inspired,” said K.Flay. “I was on tour at the time, and I wrote my verse backstage after a show, when my adrenaline was still super high. For me, the film and the song are both about how we channel our pain and how we choose to define ourselves. What separates the hero from the villain?”

Taking place during the events of John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum, Ballerina follows Eve Macarro (Ana de Armas) who is beginning her training in the assassin traditions of the Ruska Roma.

Lionsgate presents, a Thunder Road Films / 87eleven Entertainment production.

Evanescence will kick off a run of live shows later this fall, making stops on My Chemical Romance:The Black Parade tour and Louder Than Life festival before joining Metallica on their M72 World Tour. Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased here.

ABOUT EVANESCENCE:

In 2003, when the rock charts were dominated by predominantly male nü-metal and post-grunge acts, a young female-fronted band from Arkansas stood out from the crowd, offering something entirely new. They were Evanescence – and with their debut album, Fallen, they transformed the rock landscape. Led by frontwoman Amy Lee, Evanescence’s cinematic blend of metal and symphonic, piano-driven melodies captured a generation, while Fallen set the band on a path to global superstardom, earning them multiple GRAMMYS®, and becoming one of the highest-selling albums of all time.

Released in the spring of 2003, Fallen resonated deeply with fans, selling more than 141,000 copies in its first week and peaking at No.3 on the Billboard Top 200 Albums Chart, where it spent an astonishing 43 weeks in the Top 10. Within a month, Fallen was certified Platinum by the RIAA, while it was a Top 10 hit in more than ten countries, reaching No.1 in the UK, Canada, Australia, and across Europe. Much of the album’s initial success can be attributed to its stratospheric singles, including “Bring Me to Life,” which broke the Top 10 in more than 15 countries and topped Billboard’s Mainstream Top 40 and Alternative Airplay charts. “My Immortal” was a Top 10 hit in over ten countries, including the US, UK, and Australia.

At the 2004 GRAMMYS®, Evanescence received five nominations, including Album of the Year, Best Rock Album, Best Hard Rock Performance for “Bring Me to Life,” and Best New Artist, taking home the latter two. The following year, “My Immortal” received a nod for Best Pop Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocals.

Today, Fallen holds steady as the sixth best-selling album of the 21st century (ranking just behind Lady Gaga’s The Fame and ahead of Coldplay’s A Rush of Blood to the Head) and remains one of the best-selling albums of all time, with more than 17 million copies sold worldwide. In 2022, Fallen received a rare Diamond certification from the RIAA, which recognizes 10 million units in US album sales. As a testament to the album’s enduring appeal, the video for “Bring Me To Life” surpassed 1.2 billion views on YouTube, making it one of the most-watched rock videos of all-time while “My Immortal” follows close behind.

To date, Evanescence has released a total of five studio albums, including the multi-platinum The Open Door (2004) and Evanescence (2011), both of which topped the Billboard 200. In 2021, the band thrilled fans with their first album of new material in a decade, The Bitter Truth. Now 20 years on, Evanescence continues to scale new heights.   Featuring a line-up of Amy Lee (vocals, keyboards), Tim McCord (guitar/bass), Will Hunt (drums), Troy McLawhorn (guitars), and Emma Anzai (bass, backing vocals), the band continues to travel the globe, staging some of the most successful shows of their career, including Allianz Parque, a soccer stadium in Sāo Paulo, Brasil, which was the biggest headline show of Evanescence’s career to date, drawing 40,000 fans.  Evanescence’s most recent single, “Afterlife” from the Netflix series, Devil May Cry. has had great success with over 20 million streams and over 10 million views on YouTube in just the first few weeks.  “Afterlife” is the fastest moving single of the band’s career.  Evanescence will perform a small amount of special shows in 2025 Tampa, FL with My Chemical Romance and Australia and New Zealand with Metallica.   To see full show details, please visit Evanescence.com.

ABOUT K.FLAY:

Based in LA and originally from Illinois, multi-platinum artist K.Flay, born Kristine Flaherty, started rapping and writing songs on a lark while attending Stanford University, and soon began releasing her self-produced mixtapes. In 2017 she released her major label debut album Every Where Is Some Where, earning two GRAMMY Award nominations for the album’s iconic smash single “Blood in the Cut” and sending her to arenas around the world with her kinetic live set. As a songwriter, musician, and producer, she’s lent her talents to numerous collaborations, working with Tom Morello, Imagine Dragons, Mike Shinoda, Fitz and the Tantrums, Bishop Briggs, Louis the Child, Kaskade, Walk the Moon, grandson, The Regrettes, Two Feet, MisterWives, and more. Whether working on her own music or with others, K.Flay’s output remains rooted in her undeniable lyrical skills, an element she attributes to her innate love of language and its infinite possibilities. Her fifth studio album, MONO, is her first since going suddenly and completely deaf in her right ear in 2022. Although K.Flay’s hearing loss deeply informed her songwriting on the album, MONO marked the start of a new era for the artist, who explores an entire spectrum of existential questions and complex matters of the heart and mind on the LP. A relentlessly boundary-pushing artist with more than 1 BILLION streams and 100K+ tickets sold, K.Flay continues to commit herself to constant growth by holding herself to higher and more rigorous standards in every aspect of her artistry. www.kflay.com

The Itchyworms to cross continents with #AKinKaNaLangUK Tour

June 5, 2025

Longtime Beatles fans The Itchyworms gear up for a meaningful UK debut, championing nostalgia, rock music, and Pinoy Rock

Filipino rock icons The Itchyworms marks their long-awaited debut in the UK with the #AkinKaNaLangUK Tour.

The chart-topping act behind the hits “Beer,” “Love Team,” and “Di Na Muli” are set to bring their inescapable live performances and anthemic sound through a three-city tour covering Manchester, Liverpool, and London.

As lifelong Beatles fans, the band is especially thrilled to be stepping onto the same stages and streets that shaped their musical heroes.

“We’re HUGE Beatles fans, so I’m excited to go to Abbey Road with my bandmates, and of course Liverpool, and play at the Cavern Club where the Beatles first performed,” shared Vocalist/Drummer Jazz Nicolas. “England feels like our ultimate frontier.”

The UK leg of the tour follows the band’s well-received shows across Japan, Singapore, the US, Canada, and Taiwan. The response during their tour was met with overwhelming love from global fans—many of whom introduced the band’s music to friends and partners of all nationalities.

“What I realised is they don’t care if they understand the words—they understand the feeling,” said Vocalist/Guitarist Jugs Jugueta, reflecting on the universal language of music.

Between shows, the band hopes to squeeze in some sightseeing and soak up the musical heritage of each city.

Jugs explains, “I’ve been to London three times already, but this is the first time I’m going there with my bandmates. We’ll be geeking out on all things Beatles!”

But touring isn’t without its challenges. With a lean crew that includes only a manager, sound engineer, and sometimes one tech, The Itchyworms emphasize flexibility and endurance on the road.

Kelvin Yu, the band’s bassist, shared some tips when it comes to touring the world as an artist from the Philippines. “Our tip to other bands: Start with Japan or Singapore. They’re close to the Philippines, cheaper, and have great gig opportunities with strong Filipino communities.”

Despite the logistical hurdles, the band remains energized by the global enthusiasm for OPM (Original Pilipino Music).

“OPM deserves to be heard and appreciated internationally—and we’re seeing that happen more and more,” the award-winning band shares in a press statement. “We love it!”

The tour has already yielded some unforgettable moments—from a fan in Osaka who tried to kiss two band members, to an enthusiastic senior in Chicago who attempted a surprise striptease mid-show.

As for what audiences can expect from their live performances, the band puts it simply:

“For more than two hours, we hope the music brings people back to the Philippines. We want them to forget their problems and just enjoy Filipino music with fellow Filipinos.”

And the journey doesn’t stop here. While the UK marks a milestone, the band hints at future legs in Australia, New Zealand, a return to Canada in 2026, and possibly, some stops in Southeast Asia.

To their UK fans, the band has a heartfelt message: “We’re so excited to meet you all in Manchester, Liverpool, and London! If you see us on the streets, don’t be shy to say hello!”

YARA flips the script with “Sabi Ko Na (Remix),” featuring Nateman

June 5, 2025

The remix reframes the narrative with sharp verses and streetwise tension, challenging perceptions in the age of curated realities

Rising P-Pop group YARA joins forces with drill rapper Nateman for the newly released “Sabi Ko Na (Remix),” out today via Sony Music Entertainment.

Originally written by award-winning producer, singer, and songwriter JRoa and produced by Yung Bawal, the Y2k-inspired track gets a swagger-filled upgrade. Nateman’s incisive yet playful verses add grit and depth to the material, transforming the song into a more dynamic version of itself.

“Nateman came in hard with his straightforward bars and a laid-back yet intense delivery,” shares the Filipina pop alphas. “His flow was sharp, and his confidence really came through. He added this gritty, street-smart flavor that made the track different. It wasn’t just a remix anymore; it had a whole new personality. He was the perfect guy to represent the flip side of the story.”

While “Sabi Ko Na” revolves around gut instinct—knowing something’s off without clear evidence—the remix takes a more nuanced approach. Nateman’s verse offers a compelling counterpoint that challenges assumptions and injects tension to the narrative.

“In a world where people can easily curate how they appear, we felt it was important to show both sides,” explains the sassy four-piece act. “The remix isn’t just a one-sided callout anymore, it becomes a conversation about doubt, perception, and how hard it can be to really know someone. That complexity is what makes the message hit deeper.”

YARA adds, “People are quick to judge based on what they see online, so it felt important to push for deeper thinking. We want listeners to not just feel, but also question, reflect, and really understand both sides before making conclusions.”

YARA also reflects on their creative synergy with Nateman during the recording phase. The Filipino hip-hop soloist emphasized emotion over technical perfection, an insight that remarkably left a lasting impression.

“That’s when he shared something that really stuck with us: in hip-hop, perfection isn’t always the goal,” the P-Pop quartet shares. “Sometimes, it’s the little imperfections: the sabit and the raw moments that bring out the authenticity and emotion in a track. That perspective gave us a whole new appreciation for letting go and just feeling the music.”

With lush melodies, infectious hooks, and Darkchild-style production, the song finds YARA at their most confident, delivering attitude and sonic sophistication in equal measure. Thanks to Nateman’s lyrical edge and sonic swagger, the reimagined version breathes new life into the track, giving it a second wind worth the listen.

YARA and Nateman’s “Sabi Ko Na (Remix)” is out now on all digital music platforms worldwide via Sony Music Entertainment. Watch out for the release of“Sabi Ko Na (Remix)” music video on YARA’s official YouTube channel.

Kiana V releases "Falling Out," the first single off her upcoming full-length album

May 30, 2025

The Filipina R&B powerhouse opens up about toxic love, hard lessons, and finally choosing herself first

Pre-save link

Acclaimed Filipina singer-songwriter Kiana V returns with the release of “Falling Out,” a slow-burning R&B track that transforms emotional reckoning into an empowering anthem for women everywhere.

Released as the first single off her upcoming full-length album, “Falling Out” plunges into the quiet chaos of toxic love, the kind that lingers long after it should have ended. Inspired by her own experience—and the quiet confessions of friends stuck in similar loops— Kiana delivers an unflinching portrait of the patterns we perpetuate when self-worth is sidelined.

“The track captures that all-too-familiar feeling of knowing you need to walk away, but staying anyway,” Kiana adds.

Set against dreamy instrumentation and gliding, sensual production, the song pairs vulnerability with sonic elegance. Kiana’s feathery vocals, reminiscent of early 2000s R&B icons Aaliyah and Tamia, float effortlessly over smooth, hypnotic beats. The result is a modern slow jam imbued with an undercurrent of subtle strength: a song that soothes even as it confronts.

At its best, “Falling Out” is a rallying cry for women learning to reclaim their narrative. It’s a love letter to the women who have stayed and suffered too long, lost themselves in someone else’s version of love, and are finally ready to choose themselves.

The soulful new track also marks a pivotal moment for Kiana as she learns and unlearns the ropes of adulthood while rebuilding her sense of self— this time, away from the person contributing harm to her mental and emotional well-being.

About Kiana V

A luminary in the contemporary Filipino pop and R&B music scene, Kiana V continues to carve her own space with her intimate songwriting, velvety tone, and effortlessly cool sonic identity. As anticipation builds for her forthcoming album, her most mature and sonically adventurous work to date, Kiana V redefines what it means to be a Filipina artist on the world stage.

With a dedicated global fanbase eagerly awaiting new material, this album is poised to mark a significant step forward in Kiana V's burgeoning international career.

Offshore Music pays tribute to Eraserheads’ Cutterpillow with all-star compilation

May 30, 2025

Offshore Music, one of the Philippines’ leading independent labels, honors the timeless legacy of The Eraserheads’ Cutterpillow with a tribute record featuring some of the most exciting emerging and established acts in the country.

Marking the 30th anniversary of the landmark alternative rock album, the compilation release offers a fresh take on the classic tracks, reimagined by the indie label’s eclectic roster. Each artist brings a modern sensibility to the material: some putting their own stamp with genre-bending reinterpretations, while others sticking closer to the original arrangements and infusing it with their own flavor.

“We didn’t set any parameters,” explains Ely Buendia, CEO of Offshore Music. “We just told the artists that it was a tribute album, and they can interpret it as they see fit. Some totally changed the feel, genre, and energy of the song, and some stayed faithful to the material but added some sprinkles of their own musicality in it. The balance just came naturally. The decision is left to the artists, and we trust that they have the taste and wisdom to determine whether they are enhancing the original song or giving it some sort of a sonic makeover that appeals to a specific generation of listeners.”

Audry Dionisio, the General Manager of Offshore Music, emphasizes the label’s commitment to artistic freedom and integrity. She notes that Offshore Music has always empowered its artists to push boundaries, whether by challenging conventions or breathing new life into timeless material.

“Each artist was given complete creative freedom,” Dionisio explains. “Some producers collaborated directly with the band, but Ely and Pat Sarabia oversaw the entire project. We’re fortunate to have one-fourth of the Eraserheads guiding the process and lending his seal of approval. All the artists decided on what they were going to do, and we were just here to guide them. Even Rayms, Buddy, and Marcus gave their input on some tracks.”

Cutterpillow: Tribute Album art

Cutterpillow: Tribute Album brings together a diverse array of standout performances, including Diego’s Scenes and Ligaya Escueta’s emo-charged take on“Back2Me,” Elton Clark’s synth-pop spin on “Torpedo,” Carousel Casualties’ knockout rendition of “Walang Nagbago,” Pinkmen’s harmony-rich version of “Ang Huling El Bimbo,” Pixie Labrador’s Lilith Fair-flavored style “Fill Her,” ALYSON’s slick city pop render of “HuwagMo Nang Itanong,” ena mori’s theatrical reworking of the title track, and Amateurish and Stef Aranas’ dynamic redo of “Superproxy,” which serves as the album’s focus track.

The year-long campaign of the tribute album launched earlier this year with limited-edition merchandise designed by award-winning artist Tarantadong Kalbo (Kevin Eric Raymundo). The t-shirts and tote bags, which featured his signature illustrations, quickly sold out in a matter of days.

In addition to the album’s digital release, Offshore Music is set to premiere a companion docuseries on June 6, 2025, with new episodes dropping every Friday through August. The online series will showcase behind-the-scenes footage from the recording sessions, as well as interviews with the artists and producers involved.

“Additionally, in this documentary, you’ll witness the highs and lows of their journey as part of the tribute album—from their first reactions to joining the project to brainstorming, recording take after take, and their spontaneous bursts of creativity,” shares Offshore Music in a press statement. “The documentary is more than just a recording of the process; it's a celebration of passion, creativity, and the timeless impact of Cutterpillow.

Reverb Worship PH’s New Instrumental EP Release

May 29, 2025

Reverb Worship PH, the official music arm of CBN Asia, released its first-ever instrumental hymns project, Sound Waves (Instrumental Hymns) Vol. 1, on May 30 across all major streaming platforms. The extended play offers a reflective, modern take on classic Christian hymns—reimagined through moving piano, cello, and violin arrangements.

Featuring beloved songs such as “Blessed Assurance,” “Amazing Grace,” “It Is Well With My Soul,” and “Great Is Thy Faithfulness,” this four-track collection marks a significant new direction for Reverb Worship.

“For the past few years, Reverb Worship has been dedicated to creating Christian contemporary music,” shares project head and co-producer Ivy Catucod. “This time, we are excited to present a refreshing instrumental hymns EP, designed for our listeners to enjoy during quiet moments of reflection and communion with God.”

The music was arranged, recorded, and mixed by EboyRefuerzo at The Apartment studio, with performances by Theodore Philip Amper on cello and Mara Leigh Guevara on violin.

Inspired by verses such as Romans 8:31-39, Psalm 46:1-3, and Lamentations 3:22-23, the EP explores themes of grace, peace, and unwavering faith. With no lyrics, the arrangements allow space for personal reflection, prayer, and deep rest in God’s presence.

The track “Amazing Grace” builds gradually from solitary piano to rich string harmonies, capturing the journey from brokenness to redemption, while “It Is Well With My Soul”offers a calm, steady rhythm that evokes peace in the midst of life’s storms.

“Our prayer is that each listener will experience a powerful outpouring of worship to the Lord. May God's love and mercy shine brightly in their lives on their daily journey with Him,” Catucod said.

Stream Sound Waves, Vol. 1 now on YouTube, Spotify, and Apple Music. Follow Reverb Worship PH on Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube for updates, behind-the-scenes content, and upcoming music releases that will continue to inspire and uplift.

Tothapi hits universal nerve with jazzy pop single “Ulan”

May 28, 2025

The eight-piece band returns with a soulful song that takes a deeper dive into romantic ambiguity

Bicol-based pop outfit Tothapi continues to make a name for themselves in the local music scene—thanks to their brand of heartfelt pop tunes that brim with crossover appeal. Their breakthrough hit “Celeste” has racked up more than 16 million streams on Spotify, fueled by the viral buzz on TikTok and a resounding co-sign from Asia’s Songbird, Ms. Regine Velasquez.

Now basking in the glow of newfound popularity, the eight-piece band returns with their latest single, “Ulan,” a suave, jazz-laced tune that paints a vivid picture of a love that’s constantly shifting: hot and cold, much like the seasons.

Lyrically introspective and sonically lush, “Ulan” captures the experience of being entangled in a relationship marked by uncertainty and half-presence. It’s a modern love story told through someone caught in a loop of seasonal love, drawn back in only when it’s convenient for the other person. As the band describes it, it’s “falling in and out of love in the digital age,” a sentiment that resonates deeply with a generation navigating ghosting, mixed signals, and emotional limbo.

“In terms of the overall theme of the song, we made sure that chords and notes we used in the arrangement reflected an array of emotions such as sadness, grief, and desperation,” shares the band. “Just like the persona in the track, the chords and melodies are in a push-and-pull dynamic—never quite settled, always in motion.”

Penned during their senior high school days, “Ulan” comes from a place of earnestness and real-life experience. “It came from something deeply personal,” the band recalls. “But like most meaningful songs, it grew into something more universal, something that a lot of people could see themselves in.”

With their trademark blend of warm melodies and lyrical melancholy, Tothapi once again proves their ability to transform simplicity into something striking. Their sound is rooted in the honesty of their youth, their charm in the authenticity of their bond. Throughout the track, the group showcases not only musical chemistry but technical finesse.

“Every process of recording is a challenge to us, especially as a full band with different types of instruments, but our bond makes the work a bit easier,” they say in a collective statement. “We definitely tried to showcase that each of our band members can sing. In terms of the overall music production, we also did it in our home studio with the help of our very own producer, Beej. Every session we create becomes a memorable experience for us because we are not just a band; we have also formed a friendship that makes us treat each other like family.”

The story of “Ulan” continues with a music video set to drop soon. It stars Josh, better known online as “Golden Retriever Boy,” who recently went viral for his appearance on an online dating show and a cheeky TikTok video comparing his resemblance to Patrick Bernardino, ex-husband of TikTok personality MeikoMontefalco. Expect a playful visual companion to an emotionally loaded song.

Tothapi’s “Ulan” is out now on all digital music platforms worldwide via Sony Music Philippines. Stay tuned for the release of the official music video on Tothapi’s official YouTube channel.

Slot Machine has also recently completed a heartwarming musical swap with Indonesia band Coldiac that has captured fans across Southeast Asia: their powerful rock reinterpretationof Coldiac’s soulful “Beautiful Day” and Coldiac’s laid-back take on Slot Machine’s anthem “Skyline” have together earned over 3.9 million views and 86,000 engagements on Instagram. Fans have lauded Slot Machine’s energetic Thai-flavored spin (“Never thought ‘Beautiful Day’ would sound like this on rock!”) and Coldiac’s signature chill twist (“This genre is a great match for Coldiac. Cool!”), and are calling for an in-person performance or an original collaboration next, underscoring the strong creative synergy this exchange has unlocked.

Indonesia is now Slot Machine’s second largest global audience on Spotify, a milestone fueled by their 2024 single “Walk the Earth” (executive-produced by Grammy winner Ryan Tedder), whose video reached one million views in two days and has surpassed ten million to date, and which won Best International Song of the Year at The Guitar Magazine Awards 2025.

Earlier in March, Slot Machine closed out the Bangkok Music City Festival, sharing the stage with Asia’s most exciting artists. Reflecting on that experience, the band said "Being part of BMC was an eye-opener. Watching other regional artists perform, sharing ideas, and realizing how much we have in common musically - it’s something that keeps pushing us forward." Later that month, they released another Ryan Tedder-produced single, “Skyline”. With a busy release and touring schedule and steadily growing fanbase, Slot Machine continues to solidify its reputation as one of Southeast Asia’s most electrifying live acts.

ABOUT SLOT MACHINE

The name

The band name Slot Machine isn’t about gambling - it’s about synergy – how a slot machine’s moving parts work together, appearing as separate components but ultimately creating a unified outcome. The three members see themselves the same way: three distinct individuals, each bringing something unique to the table, but together they create one powerful sound. Also, a slot machine is constantly in motion, and so are they – always evolving, pushing forward, and breaking new ground. Slot Machine the band is never static; they are all about movement and progression.

The symbolic gesture

The band's iconic hand gesture, representing the 'Eye of Wisdom’, is a creative evolution of the traditional Thai wai, symbolising intelligence and mindfulness. It reflects how wisdom transcends dualities like suffering and happiness, promoting balance and awareness. According to frontman Foet, the gesture embodies the concept of the third eye - the understanding that life has more than two sides. Fans will recognise this gesture, particularly during the song "Chan Chao", as part of Foet’s signature stage presence.

The career

From their early days competing in high school music contests to headlining sold-out shows for over 15,000 fans, Slot Machine has continually evolved, reaching new heights with their 2011 album Cell which swept nine major awards in Thailand, including Album of the Year. In 2013, they gained international recognition with a nomination for Best Southeast Asian Act at the MTV Europe Music Awards, and they performed alongside Jason Mraz to an audience of 70,000 at the MTV EXIT Live in Myanmar concert.

In 2014, they celebrated their 10th anniversary with a monumental concert, playing to 15,000 adoring fans. The following year, they embarked on their first UK tour, performing at iconic venues in London, including Camden’s Barfly.

2016 was a breakout year for the band internationally. They rocked The Dawn Concert in Taipei, a major New Year event organized by the Taiwanese Government, and performed at leading Asian rock festivals, including Fuji Rock in Japan, Super Slippa in Taiwan, Jisan Valley in Korea, and Clockenflap in Hong Kong. That same year, Slot Machine released their first English-language album, Spin The World, produced by Grammy-winning producer Steve Lillywhite.

A year later, Slot Machine joined Live Nation’s Asia On Tour, performing alongside Japanese superstar Miyavi and South Korean indie rock band Kiha & The Faces across North America. Upon returning to Bangkok, they headlined their own ‘Mothership Concert’, thrilling a wildly enthusiastic crowd.

In 2018, they collaborated with Taiwanese rock band MayDayto record a single, further expanding their cross-border influence.

In 2024, Slot Machine embarked on their EXIT TO ENTER world tour which included stops across Bangkok, Taipei, Singapore and Korea.

Slot Machine’s releases promise a dynamic blend of rock, spirituality, and cultural symbolism. Their thoughtful integration of Thai elements, paired with their globally appealing sound, continues to captivate both long-time fans and new listeners.

This partnership brings together two pop culture powerhouses in a creative fusion of music and gaming. May 21, 2025 – Bali, Indonesia – AXEAN Festival proudly announces its return to Bali this year with an expanded vision and more comprehensive programming. Happening from September 13-14, 2025, at the Jimbaran Hub, Southeast Asia’s first intra-regional music showcase event is set to transform the island into a two-day convergence of sound, innovation, culture, and collaboration.

Positioned as a “celebration across borders,” AXEAN Festival will showcase over 40 emerging and established acts from Southeast Asia and beyond while exploring new educational and collaborative formats that strengthen the creative and business ecosystems across the region.

Building on last year’s acclaimed edition, this year’s event elevates its commitment to providing a holistic experience not only for the fans but also for the artists and industry stakeholders that make this celebration possible.

“AXEAN Festival has always been a labor of love for all of us co-founders—driven by passion, run pro bono, and built with bootstrapped resources,” shares AXEAN Festival co-founder and team leader Piyapong Muenprasertdee. “We've consistently pushed the limits of what’s possible with limited funding, and the positive impact we’ve made so far is a testament to that dedication.”

Piyapong adds, “We’ll keep doing what we do best: turning passion into purpose and creating meaningful opportunities for artists and industry alike—whether we’re working with a shoestring budget or something more.”

Among the festival’s hallmark offerings this year is its music conference segment, featuring curated panel discussions, business pitching sessions, and structured speed meetings between delegates and artists, which were designed to foster impactful conversations and long-term partnerships.

In addition, AXEAN Festival hones its artist-centered programming with the return of its songwriting camp—a four-day initiative inviting select showcasing artists, producers, and songwriters to co-create in an intimate, cross-cultural setting. The inaugural camp last year resulted in the creation of 20 original songs, exemplifying the creative possibilities the festival cultivates.

For the first time, AXEAN Festival also shines a spotlight on Southeast Asia’s burgeoning rave, dance, and electronic culture with the launch of its SEA Club Showcase—a live music platform dedicated to regional electronic subcultures such as Indonesian funkot or dangdut, Vietnamese vinahouse, Singaporean/Malaysian manyao, and Filipino budots. The newly minted stage honors the unique grassroots genres that are redefining the international club scene with distinctly local flair.

AXEAN Festival Co-founder and co-director David Siow emphasizes the importance of authenticity and intent in the festival’s DNA: “On the delegates' front, the intentions of the AXEAN team are clear—we really just want the artists to succeed, and we do all we can to make that happen. People do sense authenticity and intent, so having a unified goal and communicating that honestly allows for the music industry to trust us.”

David also pointed out how AXEAN Festival’s casual and welcoming nature contributed to its success and appeal. “The relaxed and jubilant atmosphere of the festival, conference, and songwriting camp, are direct reflection of the personalities in the AXEAN team. But don’t be fooled; some serious business and networking is happening for delegates and artists whilst the public enjoys the showcasing part.”

Piyapong agrees with David’s statements, noting that AXEAN Festival’s success lies in its people. “Over the years, I’ve made it a personal mission to invite people I’ve connected with—those who bring positive vibes and a collaborative spirit—to simply come as they are,” he shares. “This openness creates a welcoming atmosphere where even first-time attendees or those who come alone can feel at ease, enjoy the music and environment, and organically build meaningful connections. That positive energy is contagious—it helps break down barriers, encourages real conversations, and often leads to exciting new collaborations and business opportunities. In the end, it’s the community spirit and the human connection that make the festival truly special.”

Looking ahead to 2025 and beyond, the team envisions expanding the festival’s reach through deeper strategic partnerships, enhanced sustainability measures, and ever more dynamic, inclusive programming.

“Whether you’re a delegate, an artist, or a music lover attending for the first time, we invite you to discover the joy of connection, creativity, and cultural celebration at AXEAN Festival 2025,” says Piyapong.

Jimbaran Hub partnership

This year’s edition of the AXEAN Festival is proudly co-presented by Jimbaran Hub, a leading cultural and lifestyle center in Bali known for fostering community connection and creative exchange. MahanugraKinzana, Head of Business & Commercial of Jimbaran Hijau—the parent organization of Jimbaran Hub—expressed enthusiasm about renewing their collaboration with the festival for this special initiative.

"Jimbaran Hub is more than just a venue or a space. It is a cultural hub and nexus where authentic tradition and contemporary adaptations thrive. We foster local talent, empower communities, and bridge Indonesia's vast heritage with the world. The AXEAN Festival 2025 embodies this very vision, uniting Southeast Asian creativity to highlight and showcase the region's cultural scene, transforming our hub into a vibrant and powerful stage for global artistic exchange."

Stay tuned for the official artist lineup and full programming schedule, to be announced in the coming weeks. Discounted pre-sale tickets are available via www.loket.com/o/axeanfestival.

Indie Rock Project of Soyoon Hwang SE SO NEON Shares Vibrant New Song "Twit Winter"

May 16th, 2025 — Genre-defying South Korean band, SE SO NEON makes their highly

anticipated return with the release of "Twit Winter"

— a vibrant indie rock anthem that

contemplates life's fleeting nature. The new track is accompanied by a music video that

was shot in Seoul and self-directed by front woman, producer, and multi-instrumentalist,

Soyoon Hwang. Fans can stream the single HERE and watch the music video HERE.

With the new music, the group has crafted their own sonic identity, displaying a wide

spectrum of musical influences varying from blues and psychedelic rock to new wave and

synth pop. Sung primarily in Korean, their music is rooted both in the present and in nature,

making "Twit Winter" relatable regardless of any language barrier.

"People will feel my

energy and my soul,

" Soyoon proclaims.SE SO NEON –

"Twit Winter" (Official Music Video)

Co-produced by Soyoon and Kenny Gilmore (Weyes Blood, Sudan Archives) and mixed by

Nathan Boddy (Pink Pantheress, Geordie Greep), the song hears Soyoon exploring the

complexity of time and human existence. With the band's new music still in its infancy, she

found herself reflecting upon music she had started writing as a teenager. Despite the

growth and development that had since followed, she felt the songs were tethered to a past

version of herself.

Of performing these songs, Soyoon explains: "Each time I do, I feel as though I'm singing

alongside the Soyoon of the past. This is not a nostalgic return to an earlier self. Rather, it is the past Soyoon — the one who once wrote and sang these songs — who now meets and sings with the Soyoon of the future. It struck me, with a kind of quiet clarity, that music and the stage allow one to dismantle time's linearity altogether."

Art is often regarded as timeless, its impact surpassing any time constraints and often outlasting those that created it.

"Twit Winter" hears Soyoon grapple with her own mortality, while also questioning the longstanding legacy of her creations. In her own words: "That

thought made me want to leave behind questions for the past and future, sensations I'd still want to share, signals and traces that might survive the years. I imagine myself, aged,

singing this song. And so I decided to create a kind of time capsule, through both music and image."

The music video became an experimental extension of this concept, acting as a time capsule for future Soyoon to revisit in 2065. Throughout watching "present" Soyoon in various scenarios, a white box remains present. It marks the designated spot that the

Soyoon of the future will occupy.Stream "Twit Winter" here

TOM ODELL ANNOUNCES NEW ALBUM, A WONDERFUL LIFE

May 26, 2025

RELEASED 5TH SEPTEMBER 2025

NEW SINGLE, ‘DON’T CRY, PUT YOUR HEAD ON MY SHOULDER’ – LISTEN NOW

+ ANNOUNCES 27-DATE UK/EUROPEAN ARENA TOUR INCLUDING LONDON’S O2 ARENA IN OCTOBER

           Credit: Darren Gwynn

Tom Odell is pleased to announce details of his new album, A Wonderful Life.

The new record is released on the 5th September 2025 via UROK/Virgin. It was recorded in London and features 10 tracks including the recent introductory track and album opener, ‘Don’t Let Me Go’.

Pre-order/pre-save the album here

On this his seventh studio album, Tom Odell has created a record that embodies a universal spirit of empathetic, total honesty; one that looks out at the broken landscape of modern, fractured society and finds dystopia and doom, but also - integrally - glimmers of beauty and hope.

To coincide with the album’s announcement, Tom shares a new single, ‘Don’t Cry, Put Your Head On My Shoulder’. A cinematic lullaby, the guitar-led track soon arrows skyward evoking all the anthemic qualities to suggest that Tom and his audience will be bathed in the glare of phone torches and lighter flames when it becomes a certain staple of his live set.

The song itself tells the story of a friend mired in strife and the difficulties of learning how best to help them. It’s another telling example of Tom Odell’s songwriting prowess, and a very welcome return for this ever-popular British singer-songwriter. Listen HERE

The songs on A Wonderful Life, seek understanding within a human existence that is, at its core, messy and convoluted and never just one thing. “I wish I could wrap it up into a nice little bow of what the mood and the message is, but these songs are the antithesis of that,” he says. “To live, and to write honestly about it, is such a profoundly important part of my life now. And I feel like if I have any duty whatsoever, it’s just to continue to do that.”

Tom has recently been out across Europe’s arenas in support of Billie Eilish, and will returns to many of the same venues to headline them later this year as part of a huge 27-date arena run across the UK and Europe. The run includes a night at the O2 Arena in London on 29th October.

Fans can pre-order the forthcoming album from Tom’s webstore before 5pm BST Tuesday 27th May for first access to UK/European arena tickets. The ticket pre-sale window then opens at 10am BST on Wednesday 28th May, before tickets go on general sale from 10am BST on Friday 30th May.

This weekend, Tom plays Radio 1’s Big Weekend 2025 in Sefton Park, Liverpool. The Billie Eilish tour continues across Europe throughout the rest of the month. Tom’s intimate headline tour arrives in Europe and the UK this Summer including a tiny show at Battersea Arts Centre in July that sold out in seconds. Those intimate headline dates continue out to North America in September.

Tom plays the Woodsies stage at Glastonbury this year. Further touring news is to be shared imminently.

Meanwhile over on TikTok, Tom’s 2012 breakthrough hit ‘Another Love’ has spent the last two years going quietly stratospheric, entering the top 50 on the Billboard TikTok chart, and soundtracking millions of TikTok videos, most commonly in support of Ukraine as a sign of hope, and by Iranian women to soundtrack protest videos in response to the death of Mahsa Amini whilst in the custody of the ‘morality police’. The song, originally written by a young Tom making his very first moves in this enduring musical career, has since accumulated over 3 billion streams on Spotify, becoming one of the top 25 most streamed songs of all time on the platform.

But these big streaming numbers and the accumulation of industry awards (BRITs and Ivor Novellos) only paint part of the story of this talented musician who manages to shoot his music directly to hearts right across the globe that instantly relate to millions. It’s one reason why artists both young (The Last Dinner Party, Billie Eilish, AURORA) and old (Cat Stevens, Elton John) have expressed their love and support for what he does.

A Wonderful Life feels like an important body of work by a musician right at the top of his game, and quietly becoming more popular by the day.

A Wonderful Life album artwork

About A Wonderful Life:

Tom Odell has been stripping back the layers, creating a prolific and increasingly vulnerable canon of work that speaks to the frailties of the human condition and the fragility of the world around us. Particularly since the pandemic and 2021’s Monsters, Odell’s songwriting has put rawness and honesty to the fore, with a whole new generation of fans finding vital solace in his music in response. Seventh album ‘Black Friday’’s haunting title track has earned nearly 700 million combined streams since its late-2023 release, while a resurgence of excitement around his first ever single - 2012’s ‘Another Love’ - has seen it soar to over three billion plays on Spotify alone.

As Odell has become braver as a writer, pushing himself to uncover the most fragile and often painful parts of his psyche, so has he established himself as a true artist of note: a fact underlined by a pair of Ivor Novello nominations for Best Song Musically and Lyrically, in both 2023 and 2024. For the now-34-year-old, it’s been an illuminating journey. “The things that you feel slightly uncomfortable playing to your friends or your parents, they’re what you should put out because then it’s worth sharing,” he says. “We keep so much stuff inside, and that’s what tends to torture us the most - not the things we’re prepared to talk about - so I try to write about that as much as possible.”

Though Odell first came to prominence as a Brit Award-winning new UK pop hope, it’s never been this type of shiny, mainstream success that fuels him. “I never applied to the role of pop star and I always felt like I was being perceived in the wrong way,” he reflects. And as he’s committed further to his own vision, crafting intensely personal songs dealing with mental health struggles, body image issues and beyond, he’s seen the connections spread across the globe, through his 2.4 million TikTok followers and out into the real world environs of the live stage, where he’s been supporting Billie Eilish on her European arena tour before embarking on his own run of intimate underplays. “It alleviates some of the loneliness of existing,” he suggests of why his music has resonated so strongly, “which is what we’re all going through, together.”

Now, with his seventh studio album, Odell has created a record that embodies this spirit of empathetic, total honesty; one that looks out at the broken landscape of modern, fractured society and finds dystopia and doom, but also - integrally - glimmers of beauty and hope.

A Wonderful Life was written over nine months in 2024, on tour buses and trains, far away from the stable home life he’d created. More than any album previously, perfecting the lyrics was a true labour of love. “I laboured over every line,” he nods. “I went in on those words every day, on every plane journey, just refining and refining and refining. I can be a bit obsessive, and the obsessive part of me is probably the worst part of me and the bit that I would pay so much money for a therapist to tell me how to lose. But it’s also the bit that does not give up on songs.”

As such, the tracks on Odell’s seventh represent some of the most direct and affective moments of his career so far. Written, partly, as a real-time reaction to the harrowing news cycle and “the sense, almost every week, that the world is ending in some capacity - which it is, for some people”, it finds the musician sharpening his pen to distil this maelstrom of despair, frustration and helplessness into tracks like gently rousing lead single ‘Don’t Let Me Go’. That song opens a conversation around the “scariness” of social media that the record often returns to: “Maybe we’re sick / Sick in our bones / You smile and look down at your phone / The city is filling with smoke,” goes one notable line - inspired by a video Odell found of train commuters merrily doom scrolling as the apocalypse rages on outside. Over the tender pianos of ‘Why Do I Always Want The Things I Can’t Have’, meanwhile, he laments: “I’ve been staring at screens, my eyes are aching / Losing my faith in this world we’re making”.

“For me, that sums it up because it takes accountability for the fact that I’m [responsible] just as much as you are or the people with loads of power are,” he says of the latter line. “I hate it when it’s just blame, because when people look back on this time in 30 years we will all be responsible for the world we’re living in. But I’m still quite optimistic, and I feel like maybe if one’s gotta have anything, it’s faith in ourselves because we made it this far.”

The album’s title-track, ‘Wonderful Life’ - which builds from meditative walking pace to rousing crescendo - internalises this faith in a track that finds comfort in stillness and the smallness of everyday things, while ‘Prayer’ addresses a childhood figure that might well be himself, offering comfort and reflection. “The hug of the younger self is nice to do if you can find them,” he smiles. On that track, and largely across the whole record, the intimacy and warmth of the production heightens the feeling of Odell’s voice speaking directly to you; of a hand reaching out. Recorded in three different studios in London, Odell and his band recorded everything live with the instruments “bleeding in on one another” to retain that tangible, human touch.

The heartfelt warmth of the acoustic-led ‘Don’t Cry, Put Your Head On My Shoulder’ is a perfect example of this, as it tells the story of a friend mired in strife and the difficulties of learning how best to help them. Meanwhile, on ‘Ugly’, Odell delivers its pained sentiments with a total lack of artifice: “You don’t wanna touch me / Don’t wanna fuck me / ‘CauseI’m ugly”. “Something I’ve never really talked about is some of my own weird shame around my body, and it feels so uncomfortable to actually say that in a song. But when you say it, it’s really fucking powerful,” he says. “‘Ugly’ is an exploration of what it feels like to be a human being - of looking out at the world and feeling like everybody seems to glide through life so easily, but the experience of actually living it yourself is so fraught and it’s not pretty.”

It’s a potentially shocking song to come from an outwardly successful musician on the form of their life, releasing music to a fanbase that’s now bigger than ever. But Odell is more interested in addressing life’s complexities head-on than creating a mysterious pop star persona. On A Wonderful Life, he’s created a record that seeks understanding within a human existence that is, at its core, messy and convoluted and never just one thing.

Pinoy hip-hop newcomer Khael Domaro makes a loud entrance with “GODLIKE,” featuring O

May 24, 2025

With fierce bars and swagger-heavy beat, the Filipino rapper proves that he’s more than just a breakout potential; he’s a powerhouse

Filipino newcomer Khael Domaro marks an impressive entry in the local hip-hop scene with the release of his new single “GODLIKE,” a swagger-laced anthem that champions confidence and unapologetic dominance.

The vibey banger features a verse from GEE EXCLSV, a member of the renowned and chart-topping rap collective O SIDE MAFIA, and boasts masterful production from Yung Bawal.

From the very first bar, “GODLIKE” establishes itself as a bold declaration of power. Brimming with heavy-hitting flows, an infectious beat, and undeniable chemistry between the two MCs, the track doesn’t just echo confidence; it defines it.

Domaro shares, “It’s all about coming from nothing and still finding your way to the top. Even when nobody believes in you, you grind, you rise, and eventually you reign like the king of everything.”

The recording process was both organic and intuitive— a testament to each artist’s trust in their craft. Khael laid down his verses in his hometown in Cabuyao, Laguna, before sending the track off to Gee for his contribution. “I knew I was in my God mode when writing my lyrics,” he recalls. “And when Gee sent his draft back… Bang! It was GODLIKE.”

Instrumentally, the song is a standout. Yung Bawal’s beat is slick, aggressive, and dripping with style, serving as a perfect canvas for a lyrical firestorm that follows. “He’s got demon-level skills,” Khael praises Yung Bawal’s output. “I used to watch him back in the day when I was still dreaming. Now that I’ve worked with him, it felt surreal.”

Lyrically, “GODLIKE” is a statement. It’s Khael Domaro’sclaim to his place in the ever-evolving landscape of Pinoy hip-hop/rap.  But even amidst the bravado, Khael Domarostays grounded in authenticity. He explains, “I never write anything that’s not true to me. The swag, the confidence, the energy—that’s all real.”

Looking ahead, Khael hints that “GODLIKE” is only the beginning. “I’ve got a lot of unreleased tracks, each with a different sound,” says the rookie rapper. “Expect the unexpected: I’m unpredictable, and I like it that way.”

Khael Domaro’s “GODLIKE” is now available on all digital music platforms worldwide via Sony Music Entertainment. Watch out for the music video drop of “GODLIKE” on his official YouTube channel.
