Recorded at the Balcony Studio with the legendary AngeeRozul, the upbeat pop-rock ditty shows a sonic maverick still in his prime, tapping into new ideas with a sophisticated sheen. The track also marks the first time that the OPM veteran jammed and recorded a track face-to-face with fellow musicians since the pandemic, which includes accomplished and critically acclaimed producers/singer-songwriters Zild Benitez on bass and Tim Marquez on drums.

SOS comes to terms with love and losson the emotional anthem āPlease Langā
The new track serves as the third offering from their upcoming EP, āIt Was A Moment,ā due early next year
Manila, Philippines ā Filipino indie rock quintet SOSdelves into the impact of lost connections and romantic fallouts on āPlease Lang,ā their new single under Careless Music.
An emotional anthem that reflects on the weight of unresolved fights and the silent, often unacknowledged trauma it inflicts, āPlease Langā serves as the third offeringoff their upcoming five-track EP, It Was A Momentāto be released sometime in early 2024.
According to vocalist Roberto SeƱa, the guitar-driven song delivers confessional songwriting that is evident in most of their music.
āItās a sad song that focuses on what happened rather than what could have been. Itās also just good fun, reallyābeing able to laugh or have a sense of humor while experiencing inevitable heartbreak. Eventually, the song takes a darker turn as the song settles; things come to an end, and we just have to accept it.ā
Over the course of two days, SeƱa wrote most of the lyrics during one of their jam sessions at Bavarian Records Studio in La Union, while guitarist Andrew Panopio helped with the second half of the song. The song was produced and arranged by the members of the band, resulting in a punchy but subdued release with ā80s pop and ā90s alt rock influences worn proudly on its sleeves.
Drummer King Puentespina shares, āI think we were slated to finish arranging another song that day, and during our lunch break, I opened a new project file wanting to jam something out. I remember laying in the chords, progression, and drums and it started morphing. I asked Andrew to go for the groove; Ram was on the keys, and everyone in the room could feel it. It just slowly brought itself together. SeƱa and Anjo came into the studio after one of their lunch breaks or meetings or something, and they all got excited. I remember stepping out for a meeting and dinner. I came back, and they had all the words down. It was insanely fun.ā
āPlease Langā is the second single that features new member Ram Alonzo performing keyboard duties while also being prominently involved in the studio, aiding in the mixing and mastering of the material. He recalls being swept away by the fragility of the track, and how its tale of love and loss deeply resonated with him on a personal level.
āWorking on this song felt particularly personal for me,ā Ram admits. āWhile we were writing it, I was going through a similar experience to what the song is all about, which made listening to it kind of difficult. Masakit siya (Itās painful).ā

Clara Benin warms up the holiday season with the release of her new single, ācanāt wait to see you on christmas day.ā
The sweet little tune expresses the joy of returning to someone on Christmas and finding home, not necessarily in a place or entity, but in the company of people that matter.
āI wrote it thinking of my family and the heart-warming feeling of our Christmas reunions, where all our worries melt away, replaced by thankfulness and joy,ā the Filipino singer-songwriter explains.
Written and produced in the comfort of her own home, Clara Benin wanted a song that evokes the endearing warmth of the holidays, where spending oneās precious time with folks she considers family makes living truly worthwhile and memorable.
Despite the logistical challenges that she encountered during the recording of the song in early October, the prolific folk-pop artist pulled through the odds with a compelling track whose sense of comfort radiates in every note and chord.
āIt took me multiple attempts to get the right take because my home studio isn't soundproof, and the rain could be heard in the background during the recording,ā Clara reveals. āI managed to record the song one early morning and finished at around 4 a.m.ā
According to Clara, the song holds a special place in her heart as it started out as a collaborative effort with her fans in her Patreon community. She even solicited their help for words and phrases that bring to mind the essence of Christmas and somehow used it as part of her writing exercise.
āShoutout to my Patreon member Stephen Duma, whose line 'all the longing finds hope in the faces we call home' deeply resonated with me, and I knew it had to be a part of the song,ā Clara shares in a statement.

āWhere do I beginā¦ itās a truly life altering song. Four minutes of music that shifted my trajectory entirely. Itās so big that I think of my career in two sections - before and after āLet Her Go.ā People often ask me if I knew Iād written a hit straight away after writing it. The honest truth is I didnāt. Iād written so many songs up until that point that I had been excited by, but nothing had ever come of them, so by this stage I had genuinely stopped thinking in those terms.
I vividly remember writing it. It was early 2011, and I was out on a regional tour of Australia playing tiny rooms to a handful of people each night. I remember walking into a venue dressing room, picking up my guitar and playing the opening riff like Iād written it years ago, like Iād played it before. Like it had always been there. I donāt think Iāve had many other moments like that.
A massive part of the song's success is down to Ed Sheeran. If he hadnāt have taken me around the world as his opening act in the year leading up to the song blowing up, then it simply wouldnāt have happened. I owe him an awful lot - he has championed me and opened doors that were securely locked. Heās an incredibly kind and thoughtful person that somehow finds time and energy to lift others up around him even though he carries the world on his shoulders. Heās a constant inspiration and a fierce friend.
So, when it came to re-recording this song, there was only ever going to be one person that Iād want to duet on it. Iām sure some people will see this collaboration and assume that itās for commercial opportunity and of course theyāre right - itās no bad thing to have one of the biggest stars in the world sing on one of my songs!! But like the other three collaborators on this album, there is a genuine and undeniable link that he has had to Passenger over the years and to this song in particular.
Iām grateful to āLet Her Goā beyond words. Not just for its success, but for the opportunity to reach people all over the world, just for four minutes, and make some kind of small difference. What an amazing thing,ā Passenger shares.
