2x-Grammy nominated, multi-platinum artist, producer and DJ Steve Aoki, has joined forces with chart-topping international sensation JJ Lin to create a stellar new track that energizes and motivates to never give up on the hustle, aptly titled “The Show.” The single is the first release from FLUXGEN, a new partnership between Steve Aoki and 88rising, the pioneering music company representing the best of Asian talent. Supported by the unique identity of 88rising and Steve Aoki, FLUXGEN is a space encouraging invention, experimentation and unexpected sounds working in tandem. Including recorded music, live events and more, this genre-bending space serves as a platform for collaboration. One that challenges the traditional notion of a record label.
In the essence of the phrase “the show must go on,” the Singaporean triple threat singer-songwriter, record producer and multi hyphenate entrepreneur JJ Lin sings on “The Show” of powering through hard times with the lyrics, “Guess I’m getting on with the show,” which is paired with a pounding beat and anthemic rise in Aoki’s signature style that always brings the crowd to their feet.
“The Show” arrives with a colorful music video filmed in JJ Lin’s home country of Singapore, and directed by Edgar Estevez (Ice Spice, Nicki Minaj, French Montana, Doja Cat, Wiz Khalifa) and Jon Primo of Blank Square. In the video, Aoki and JJ Lin find themselves amid an array of dancers and glowing visuals inspired by the vibrancy of Singapore. The video ends with a fireworks finish above the Singapore skyline, boasting the ultimate party vibe. The jellyfish seen in the video were also designed based on the jellyfish of the legendary S.E.A Aquarium. Several scenes used AI-generated textures which were created using Microsoft’s Azure cloud platform.
Steve Aoki shares, “Music has the power to unite us, to inspire us, and to ignite our passion. 'The Show' is a testament to the relentless spirit of chasing our dreams and never giving up. Together with JJ Lin for our second collaboration, we've created a sonic experience that pulsates with energy and resonates with the desire to keep pushing forward. Get ready to embrace the spotlight and let the music take you on a journey you won't forget."
JJ Lin says, “Working with Steve is always so fun and easy, it’s like being in a ring with him where we exchange punches each time. First time he drops me a crazy remix for my single ‘Not Tonight,’ and this time I lend my vocals in ‘The Show.’ It’s a song that coincides with my 20 years since debut, and talks about the ups and downs of being in show biz, and finding strength to keep true to one’s heart in this complicated world. Every time I work on an English number, it’s such a fresh experience, I would say, keep the collabs coming!”
JJ Lin has created a name for himself through years of powerful live shows and engaging performances that generated a dedicated international following. His popularity soared throughout Asia with his consistent release of award-winning chart toppers throughout his illustrious career of 20 years, making him one of the most sought-after artists worldwide.
Coined “The Walking CD” by netizens for his incredible live performance and expansive vocal range, JJ has completed 136 tour stops and clocked over 100 million views for his virtual concerts. The best-selling Chinese act has accumulated an impressive 120 billion streams on major music platforms worldwide. He also broke new frontiers as the top Asian artist (5th in the global ranks) in the Global Concert Pulse ranks in 2023. Meanwhile, Steve Aoki, who centers every one of his artistic endeavors on creativity and community, is likewise known for his relentless touring and global following, taking the stage more nights of the year than not. He is also a Guiness World Record holder, as the “Most Traveled Musician in One Year,” a title he’s held since 2012. Together on “The Show,” their energy is palpable and the track sounds as though it’s direct from the front row of the stage.

88rising is a pioneering global music and media company representing the best of Asian talent. Since its inception, 88rising has paved the way for many music industry firsts: the first to have an Asian artist top the Billboard R&B/Hip-Hop charts, Spotify’s Weekly Global Albums chart and enter the top 10 on Mediabase’s Top 40 chart, the first to launch an all-Asian radio channel in North America, and the first and only record label to have a main stage slot at Coachella. 88rising is also most notably the first company to launch an Asian-centric music festival in the United States, Head in the Clouds Music & Arts Festival, in partnership with powerhouse promoter Goldenvoice. The flagship festival expanded globally, for the first time, to Jakarta Indonesia and Manila Philippines in 2022. Previously, in 2019, 88rising was awarded Label of the Year by NetEase, one of the largest music streaming platforms in China. With over 160 million followers across global social media platforms and over 50 billion total streams and views, 88rising’s global influence is undeniable.

KYLIE’S BRAND NEW SINGLE, ‘PADAM PADAM’, IS OUT NOW!
WATCH THE VIDEO HERE
KYLIE’S HIGHLY ANTICIPATED BRAND NEW ALBUM,
‘TENSION’,
WILL BE RELEASED ON SEPTEMBER 22
Kylie’s return to making new music is always a joyful and celebratory event - and none more so than now, with the release of her insanely catchy new single, ‘Padam Padam’. The song, produced by Lostboy (Griff, Anne-Marie, Tiesto), encapsulates everything you love about this musical icon. From the euphoric vocals, to the ridiculously infectious chorus and the heart-thumping electronic drum beat - this is an instant Kylie classic. Listen here.
Shot in LA and directed by Sophie Muller, the video sees a powerful and otherworldly Kylie dressed head to toe in red and flanked by dancers. The video is live here.
September 22nd will see the release of Kylie’s brand new studio album, 'Tension’, a record of pleasure-seeking, empowered dance floor bangers and sultry pop cuts.
Discussing ‘Tension’, Kylie says,
“I started this album with an open mind and a blank page. Unlike my last two albums there wasn’t a ‘theme’, it was about finding the heart or the fun or the fantasy of that moment and always trying to service the song. I wanted to celebrate each song’s individuality and to dive into that freedom. I would say it’s a blend of personal reflection, club abandon and melancholic high.”
Kylie has worked with a number of producers on the album with seven of the tracks being produced and co-written with her long-time collaborators, Biff Stannard and Duck Blackwell.
Discussing the recording process, Kylie says,
“I loved being back in the studio with my collaborators but was also able to benefit from remote recording, which we have all got used to – my mobile studio never left my side for a year and a half ! The album is a mix of songs I have written and songs which really spoke to me. Making this album helped me navigate challenging times and celebrate the now. I hope it accompanies listeners on their own journeys and becomes part of their story.”
The album is available to pre-order now.

The award-winning Indonesian artist will be joining some of the most esteemed acts in the country, such as actor/rapper Elijah Canlas, hip-hop duo BLKD and Calix, dance-rock outfit Pedicab, and acclaimed electro-pop star Ena Mori, to name a few.

Kara Chenoa is currently in the Philippines for a series of engagements, including a music video shoot for his collaboration with Filipino alt-R&B artist Jason Dhakal. The two acts are teaming up on “Lifetime,” a soulful and heartfelt tune about the potential for a lasting connection. Conveying one’s romantic connection to someone special, the song presents the protagonist’s desire for a bond that transcends time and dimensions, wondering if the feeling is mutual.
“The song emphasizes a willingness to break societal norms for love,” describes Kara. “Despite acknowledging the limitations of time, the characters in the lyrics are patient and willing to wait for the right moment. ‘Lifetime’ captures the longing, hope, and commitment associated with building a meaningful and enduring relationship.”
The upcoming single will serve as the focus track of his sophomore EP titled Green Banana, due to arrive on June 30.
Through the years, Kara Chenoa has acquired an impressive list of collaborations from the region, such as Midnight Quickie on the single “Call My Name” and Jevin Julian on tracks “BAJ” and “No Clue.” The latter was nominated for an AMI Award for Best Urban Single. Kara’s music can't really be classified under one genre, with varying influences such as hip-hop, jazz, rock, and even traditional Indonesian doo wop in its sonic arsenal. His work serves as a reflection of how he sees himself: as a chameleon in the music industry.

The Only Child Is Not Kawawa
“𝘐 𝘢𝘮 𝘯𝘰𝘵 𝘬𝘢𝘸𝘢𝘸𝘢 𝘣𝘦𝘤𝘢𝘶𝘴𝘦 𝘐 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘥𝘪𝘳𝘦𝘤𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘪𝘯 𝘭𝘪𝘧𝘦, 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘐 𝘮𝘢𝘥𝘦 𝘪𝘵 𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘩𝘢𝘱𝘱𝘦𝘯 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘮𝘺𝘴𝘦𝘭𝘧.”
𝘉𝘺 𝘚𝘢𝘮𝘢𝘯𝘵𝘩𝘢 𝘎𝘢𝘪𝘭 𝘓𝘶𝘤𝘢𝘴
“𝘈𝘺, 𝘬𝘢𝘸𝘢𝘸𝘢 𝘬𝘢 𝘯𝘢𝘮𝘢𝘯 𝘸𝘢𝘭𝘢 𝘬𝘢𝘯𝘨 𝘬𝘢𝘱𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘥!” This is a phrase that I have been hearing all my life.
Whether from people who personally know me or people who have just met me, this phrase is always their chosen icebreaker for me. It doesn’t matter if they have said it before. It also doesn’t matter if they knew my life and my background. They will still tell me that I am supposed to be pitied because I lack siblings.
Dear reader, it is time to stop calling the only child 𝘬𝘢𝘸𝘢𝘸𝘢.
I usually hear on AM radio and on TV dramas that people without siblings are 𝘬𝘢𝘸𝘢𝘸𝘢 because they are all alone. I beg to disagree. As an only child, I never felt alone. I never considered myself to be alone.
In fact, I recognized my own agency at an early age thanks to my circumstances. Being without siblings has taught me to fend for and depend on myself for company, peace of mind, and stability. I never sought out companionship because I knew that I had myself.
I also did not have any problems making friends because I was confident enough to converse with others thanks to my wide exposure to books and movies. I was interested in other people because I had a curious mind.
In school, I did not feel awkward because I was there to learn. The friends I gained along the way were there because we had common interests. So, I have myself to thank for my own self-assurance.
I also learned to overcome challenges and learn from my failures because I had a high standard for excellence. I did not fear failure, because I only competed against myself and not with siblings.
I must say that the stigma against my being an only child translated even until I joined the workforce. I was questioned about having no siblings in job interviews, and I told them all that I was not a spoiled child. I knew what I wanted and what my goals were, so I might have been mistakenly perceived as spoiled. But I never thought of myself as one.
I worked doubly hard for everything because I was the only child in my family. It was solely my responsibility to make myself and my parents proud. So, I am not kawawa because I do not have siblings to pressure me to succeed or make my way into the world. I only had myself, and I am fortunate enough to grow up knowing that I wanted to write and publish books for a living.
Now that my dreams are coming true, I can say that I am lucky that I worked hard and followed my heart. I am not 𝘬𝘢𝘸𝘢𝘸𝘢 because I have direction in life, and I made it all happen for myself.
So, if you know someone who does not have siblings, stop calling them 𝘬𝘢𝘸𝘢𝘸𝘢. It is a backward mindset that unfairly stereotypes people.
People should be appreciated for their skills, values, and strengths. They should be seen for how they overcome challenges and how teachable they are. Everyone should be able to make their own way into the world.
It is time to move forward from the stereotype that the only child is 𝘬𝘢𝘸𝘢𝘸𝘢. The only child is strong, capable, and determined.
No one deserves to be called 𝘬𝘢𝘸𝘢𝘸𝘢 simply because of their solitary order in the family.

GRAMMY-nominated American electronic music duo and producers SLANDER (Derek Andersen and Scott Land) independently have released their new single “Wish I Could Forget” featuring multi-platinum-selling singer, songwriter, and producer blackbear and GRAMMY-nominated, multi-platinum-selling quintet Bring Me The Horizon. The collaboration – first teased live by SLANDER last summer to over 18,500 fans at the Long Beach Arena – is a true worlds colliding moment, uniquely bringing in the sounds of all three accomplished artists. Listen HERE.
This cinematic song illustrates the feeling of a broken heart after a failed relationship, and how you wish you could forget what led you to such a pivotal moment in life.
The new single marks SLANDER's first time collaborating with the multi-platinum-selling artists. “Working with blackbear & Bring Me The Horizon was a dream come true and we are thrilled with how the final version has turned out! We have been fans of both of them for years, so to hear bear and Oli together on one track is truly incredible,” said Derek Andersen.
The official music video is directed by Emil Nava – the talented visual storyteller with directorial credits on videos from Calvin Harris, Ed Sheeran, Khalid, Ellie Goulding, and more. It begins with a close-up shot of blackbear before erupting into a blistering performance with sporadic camera transitions, imagery, and vocals from Oli Sykes of Bring Me The Horizon. Click HERE to watch.
The release of “Wish I Could Forget” marks the start of an extremely busy year for the musicians and label heads, as SLANDER gear up to perform around the world. The guys head out to the desert with two sets at EDC in Las Vegas on May 21st followed by Tomorrowland, Lollapalooza Paris, a Las Vegas residency at Zouk, and more later this year.
ABOUT SLANDER
SLANDER is an American DJ/Producer duo consisting of Derek Andersen and Scott Land based in Los Angeles, CA who are best known for their unique, emotional, melodic bass music sound. Known for their electrifying live performances, SLANDER has performed at global festivals such as Coachella, EDC, Lollapalooza, Tomorrowland, Ultra Music Festival, and more. The pair has become one of the hottest acts in dance music amassing over one billion streams and counting, and selling out massive venues such as Red Rocks Amphitheater.
In 2015, they joined NGHTMRE for the acclaimed Nuclear Bonds EP which clocked over a million downloads in 1 month. They continued to build a dynamic, diverse, and deep catalog highlighted by the gold-certified “All You Need To Know” [feat. Calle Lehmann] with Gryffin and double platinum-certified “Love Is Gone” [with Dylan Matthew] as well as popular tracks “Superhuman”, “First Time”, and “Feeling Gud.” Beyond remixes for everyone from Adele to Halsey, they joined forces with Illenium on “Lay It Down” [with Krewella] from the former’s Fallen Embers, which garnered a 2022 GRAMMY® Award in the category of “Best Dance/Electronic Music Album.” In 2022, they released their album “THRIVE.”
In addition to making music, SLANDER has added “label heads” to their resume after turning their popular Gud Vibrations brand into an official record label with good friend NGHTMRE in 2018. Shortly after, the pair branched out to start their own solo venture, Heaven Sent, with the goal of spotlighting a more melodic sound.
Now in 2023 they step into new territory once again launching their underground techno side project “Before Dawn” which debuts for the first time at EDC Las Vegas 2023.

Kesha shines a light on her dark depths on new album, Gag Order
Pop superstar Kesha has released Gag Order, her fifth album and the crowning jewel of the GRAMMY-nominee’s eclectic and inspired discography to date. LISTEN HERE.
Called “her most daring music yet” by Rolling Stone, ‘Gag Order’ (produced by Rick Rubin, with Kesha as executive producer), has been self-described as “post-pop” full-bodied collection which flows like a stream-of-consciousness journey through the psychedelic dark depths of the human psyche, followed by basking in the cleansing light when finally reaching the surface.
Pre-release tracks “Eat the Acid” and “Fine Line” have hinted at the pop star’s artistic reinvention, with The Fader calling the former a “cautionary psychedelic anthem” while Bustle complimented the latter’s lyrics as “a jaw-dropper”. Elsewhere on the album, Kesha ruminates on her struggles with panic attacks on “Living In My Head”, finds peace in the fallout of facing one’s fear on “Happy”, and on “All I Need Is You” shares an ode to unconditional true love (aimed at her beloved cat Mr. Peeps).
Gag Order feels like an emotional exorcism, unearthing and facing the darkness in oneself, brought to life with experimental, otherworldly production and lyrical vulnerability unlike anything the artist has written before. On ‘Gag Order’, Kesha confronts her own reflection and finds empowerment in her own voice, with beautiful, heart-aching results.
In a recent album manifesto (read HERE via Nylon), Kesha shared that “Without the darkness there is no light. So I let my darkness have the light. I can’t fight the truth. Life is difficult and painful. It is for everyone,” adding that “An artist doesn’t exist to make others happy. I believe an artist gives voice, motion, color to the emotions we all have. The good emotions, and the unmanageably fucking miserable ones.”
Kesha has sold more than 14 million total album equivalents worldwide, has approximately 6.9 billion audio streams and 1.7 billion video streams worldwide, and has had 9 Top 10 hits on The Billboard Hot 100, including four # 1 singles at Top 40 Radio - "TiK ToK," "Your Love Is My Drug," "Die Young," and "Timber."
Kesha’s new album, Gag Order is out now on all digital music platforms worldwide via Sony Music Entertainment.
